Cool Things in the Village
Lakeview Village has a great clubhouse that includes a tidy library with a revolving selection of hardbacks, softbacks, and audio books that residents are free to take home and read. Donations are always being added and old items are regularly passed on to local libraries and charities.
The clubhouse has a nice exercise room with a number of cardio workout machines available. Here’s a secret: Not that many folks use this equipment so you have no excuse not to!
Also, a pool room with two new tables is located inside the clubhouse and for years it has been the scene of daily games between regulars. Feel free to drop by Monday through Saturday at 8:30 a.m until 10 a.m. to see what goes on. If enough newcomers want to play, it’s no problem to add an additional time slot. Of course, anyone may use the pool room when it’s available. Note: please do not sit or lean on the pool tables; they are professionally leveled and can be easily tilted by doing so.
Behind the clubhouse is the swimming pool and spa and a spacious lounge area with tables and umbrellas. If you live in Sacramento, you know what to do with a swimming pool! Don’t neglect to check out the water aeorbics classes.
The first and third Fridays of each month see around 60 people at the clubhouse for Friday Frolics. This is an enjoyable pot luck and social opportunity open to all residents and guests. The bar opens at 5 p.m. and the food line begins at 6. If you attend, please bring a dish that will serve 8 to ensure enough food is available for all. There have been times when the last table or two had to go on a diet so help make sure this doesn’t happen! Desserts are great but main dishes are preferable as feasting on dessert alone can make one a little grumpy.
Many other activities and events take place every week in the clubhouse. Check out the calendar of events right here on this web site or in your printed version of the Crier to see them all.
Also, the Crier contains many advertisiments for goods and service from vendors who are familiar with our village. If possible, we recommend using these vendors as it often results in better service and prices!
