Hi, it’s me ‘The Cisco kid’ Al again (remember him),
In case the several notices about the up coming Siete de Mayo Potluck on Saturday have eluded your email box, here’s mine now. I’d hate to be told I forgot to tell you about Shenanigans, after all it’s the only non-paying job I ever held. 😉
Anyhow, it’s important that you know that we are taking out from mothballs, everyone’s favorite ‘the old Margaritaville Machine’ again. Well almost everyone’s favorite; I mean there are those ‘purists’ who still think margaritas only need shaking and forbid any shaved ice. I know they will certainly keep our Mixologists busy, because they do know how to create the perfect unfrozen margaritas you know.
However, let’s talk about the rest of us, like me, who insist upon a lime and salted rim of glass filled with tequila soaked shaved ice, (even if I totally ignore the salt when sipping it anyway.) Let’s face it, is it really a margarita without the salted rim? I think not. And how about that brain freeze you get, and you know you’ll get it, yet you still go for it. Yeah, that kind of margarita is back and of course we’ll have Mr. and Mrs. Margaritaville on tap, Norm and Renee. What a legacy for them, King and Queen 🤴👸 of Frozen Margaritas forever. Who knew, huh?
I know there’s gonna be all kinds of Mexican Cuisine being offered on Saturday, but there’s more coming from Shenanigans yet. I went out this week and bought a bunch of Mexican Beers, I mean, is there a better time than Cinco de Mayo or the whole month of May to bring out the Cerveza du jour? (Did you catch me mixing Spanish and French together and I hardly can handle English. It’s a gift.)
One last thing, with me there’s never one last thing, so I’ll apologize in advance. Starting next month Shenanigans Happy2Hours will return to the original time slot of 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Just so you’ll know why I changed the original hours some time ago, it was all Covid’s fault forcing us to be locked out of the clubhouse. There were many months when the 5:00 pm ending time arrived, it was well past dusk and with those lumpy, bumpy lawns we held the H2H on, it just scared me. I didn’t think it was safe for anyone to be walking on those grounds without better lighting. Now that we are permanently back inside, there’s really no safety concerns any longer. I hope you bought that because it’s the best I can come up with on short notice. Really. Okay, ‘Cisco Al’ is outta here until the next blast out from Linda Evans. Hasta luego. (I couldn’t resist.)
Al Fichera,
Bar Manager
