From Dorothy Ritter – We have a week of nearly 100 degree heat coming up! If you have pots in the afternoon sun, move them into the shade if possible. It can be as much as 10 degrees hotter inside a pot than the outside temperature, so 105 = 115! For smaller pots, morning sun may even be too much. If you can’t move them, an umbrella might help, if you can keep it in place.
If a plant is wilting, the root ball has probably shrunken slightly, (not enough for you to see). When you water, it may run down the sides, and out the bottom. Water it again to be sure the water gets to all of the root ball.
Move them first, then water, or they may become too heavy.
From Janet Bailey – The price for tickets to see Strange Bedfellows at the Theater in the Heights has changed to $20 per person
From Scott Hillis – Crier Assembly has changed to Monday, August 1st.
To those of you who have gmail accounts – the last email I sent about the upcoming Fiddlers Jam contained a graphic that gmail didn’t like (it happens some times.) I’m sure you thought some alien had sent you that crazy looking email. Sorry. Here is the email without the graphic.
