Bottles and Cans

Jan 8, 2024

Hello Lakeview

Happy New Year

Let us celebrate the New Year with California’s NEW RECYCLING laws.

This year we can recycle more items than before.  This can mean more money for our general fund which supports our social gatherings.  Wine, liquor, alcoholic coolers, juice containers, boxed wine, alcohol pouches (frozen alcohol beverages), larger containers (larger than 46 ounce) can all be redeemed.

Before this year, 100% juice containers or those larger than 46 ounces could not be redeemed.  Now they can be.

As before, when purchasing soda or beer in plastic, glass or aluminum containers, you paid 5 cents per container.  For a six pack of beverage, that’s 30 cents.  If you purchase an item holding more than 24 ounces of juice, that’s 10 cents you paid.  Alcohol pouches, boxed wine and cartons are worth 25 cents.  This is what you will be paying when you purchase these items.  That money is held until redeemed.

So rather than throw your money away, please save all those containers.  Donate them to us to help pay for the fun times we have here at Lakeview Village.

As always, please sort the items into different plastic trash bags.  Different items pay differently so we must sort by like items to get paid.

Do not mix recyclable trash with your bottles and cans.  They can go into your Blue recycling container the trash company gives you.

We will be around this Tuesday, Jan. 9th.  Please have your donation on the curb by 9 am.

A BIG THANK YOU to every one who donates to this fund raiser.
