Hello everyone, it’s “Soupy Sales Al” this time. (Am I the only one who remembers Soupy Sales? I have no idea why I just remembered the actor, comedian though.)
The upcoming potluck or “Soupluck” as I’m calling it, is something new for our village. At least, I cannot remember a potluck where we asked people to bring soup if they cared to do that. Of course, it is only a suggestion, you can bring whatever you wish or normally bring though. That’s Saturday, November 9th from 4 to 6 p.m.
Shenanigans will have a signature cocktail available for you as well; coming up with these cocktail ideas is a tough job, but somebody hasta do it, right? So, I thought and thought and decided to just search for information about the Great Depression of the 1920s Soup Kitchens and then what were popular cocktails during that period. Several cocktails came up in the search including the Cosmopolitan; yeah, that’s what I decided to pick for us. At least, we will make it a “Shenanigan’s Cosmo” and Norm and Renée will be pouring them for you until they run out, so don’t delay in ordering one for yourself.
We are trying something new for Shenanigans lately, we will open 15 minutes early so that we can start the cleanup 15 minutes sooner. Our volunteers arrive one hour early to set up and then can take up to an hour getting everything cleaned and put away. We will try to make a last call for the bar in plenty of time before we close the bar. We will always try to accommodate your requests, including getting that last cocktail for you, but please respect our volunteers as they are setting up or putting things away. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday for this new idea potluck.
Al Fichera,
Shenanigans Bar Manager
