Soupluck Potluck thank You

Nov 11, 2024

Hi everyone,

Just an update for you on our first ever Soupluck Potluck event on Saturday November 9th. For those of you who attended, thank you so much for being a part of something new and exciting for us. For those who couldn’t attend, this letter is for you so you may plan on not missing the next Soupluck event whenever it is offered again.

We had a small crowd attending, but it didn’t affect the fantastic results; we had 20 soups to choose from and a few main dishes plus assorted breads as well and let’s not forget the desserts. We were able to retain some of the dish name cards describing the various soups but lost a few. Here is a list of the soups we had cards for. Every soup was delicious, I know because I tried quite a few of them myself until I had to stop!

We had soups with chicken as the star: Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken and Rice Soup, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Chicken and Orzo Soup. Plus, these: Pumpkin Soup, Potato Soup, Italian Meatball Soup, Stuffed Green Pepper Soup, Italian Lentil Soup, Ham and Bean Soup, Lasagne Soup, Vegetables with Beef Soup, and Sopa de Couve Soup, a Portuguese soup, We unfortunately missed picking up 6additionalsoup tags, so we are sorry for those bringing soups that didn’t get mentioned here. We also had Chicken Alfredo, Corn Casserole plus more that we missed saving the note cards. If you are reading this and are one of the guests who’s dish or soup wasn’t mentioned, please email me so I can add it the the letter for keeping. I may be emailed at: al.fichera@gmail.com.

This potluck idea was from Diane Perry, who brought her delicious Portuguese soup. We will certainly do a Soupluck Potluck again one day. We will work on the plates needed to carry a few soups back to the table easier for you the next time. However, what a wonderful idea Diane had for us, and I hope those of you that couldn’t make it this time will be able to the next time. You wouldn’t want to miss attending this a second, that’s for sure.

Shenanigans doesn’t usually have a signature drink for potlucks, but this time we did. It was our version of the old Cosmopolitan Cocktail from the ‘20s and ‘30s. It was such a big hit that we will be bringing it back again for the New Years Eve Party. The flavor is not too sweet, not too tart, not too boozy, just right to have a couple or three of them and still wake up fresh in the morning, Haha!

We hope to see you all for our Thanksgiving Dinner on the 23rd.

Al Fichera,
Shenanigans Bar Manager
