Citrus Nights is back for a second night of community fun! Join us Friday, September 18, from 6–9 p.m. at Van Maren Park for an evening of live music, food and family-friendly fun.
Dance the night away with live music from Moonshine Crazy, grab a bite to eat from on-site food trucks and enjoy a relaxing evening with friends and neighbors under the stars.
The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce will host a Beer & Wine Garden featuring drinks from local brewery DarkHeart Brewing and more for 21+ guests to enjoy!
Admission is free, so bring the family and make plans to join us for another Citrus Nights celebration!

| Make Your Voice Heard: Join the Youth Advisory Commission
The City of Citrus Heights is launching a new Youth Advisory Commission and is looking for local students in grades 8–12 to serve!
The Commission will give youth a chance to share ideas with City leaders, provide feedback on projects and programs, participate in community events and help shape initiatives that impact young people.
The Commission will include 13 youth members who live in Citrus Heights. Members will serve a one-year term and attend at least one meeting each month. The deadline to apply is September 25th!

Share Your Thoughts: Placer-Sacramento Gateway Plan Survey
The Placer County Transportation Planning Agency is seeking public input on the Placer-Sacramento Gateway Plan Update, a study of travel patterns and transportation needs along the corridor linking Placer County and Sacramento.
Community members are encouraged to complete a brief survey on their travel habits and priorities before it closes in early August.

Auburn Boulevard Transformation: City Celebrates Major Milestone with Ribbon Cutting

The City of Citrus Heights celebrated the completion of the Auburn Boulevard Complete Streets Project with a ribbon-cutting on August 27, marking the culmination of a long-term vision to transform one of the community’s most important corridors.
The project has revitalized Auburn Boulevard from Sylvan Corners to the Citrus Heights/Roseville border with safer intersections, wider sidewalks, enhanced bicycle facilities, decorative lighting, landscaping, upgraded utilities, improved transit amenities and a new “Welcome to Citrus Heights” gateway feature. Together, Phases 1 and 2 represent the City’s largest public works investment to date.
The City was joined by project partners, consultants, contractors, local businesses and community members to celebrate the milestone. Approximately 80% of Phase 2 construction was funded through grants and other non-general fund sources, demonstrating the City’s success in leveraging outside funding to deliver major infrastructure improvements.
The City extends its sincere appreciation to residents, businesses and project partners for their patience and support throughout construction. With the project now complete, Auburn Boulevard is better positioned to serve residents, businesses and visitors for generations to come! |

| Give Blood, Help Save a Life
The City is partnering with Vitalant to host an upcoming community blood drive. Residents are encouraged to make an appointment and help ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients in need.
When: Tuesday, September 15th from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: City Hall, 6360 Fountain Square Dr.
Donors can schedule an appointment, and walk-ins are welcome if space allows. The donation process takes about an hour, with the actual donation taking approximately 10 minutes.

Come prepared: Bring a photo ID, eat a hearty meal, drink plenty of water and make sure you are feeling healthy before donating.

| Temporary Signs: Know Before You Place a Sign
Temporary signs are a common way to share information, promote events or show support for a candidate or cause. Before placing a sign, remember that signs are generally allowed on private property with the property owner’s permission. Signs are not permitted on public property or within the public right-of-way.
That includes medians, sidewalks, public landscaping, utility poles, traffic signals, street signs, fire hydrants and parks. Signs placed in these areas will be removed.
Keeping signs out of the right-of-way helps maintain safety, accessibility, visibility and the beauty of our community.

Being a good neighbor often begins with something simple: learning someone’s name, stopping to talk or noticing when a little help may be needed. These everyday connections are especially meaningful for older residents who live alone, have limited transportation or may not see friends and family as often as they once did.”

| Free Kitchen Pails & Compost Giveaway
Republic Services is hosting a free Kitchen Pail and Compost Giveaway on Saturday, September 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Citrus Heights residents can pick up one free kitchen pail per household, while supplies last, and stock up on free self-serve compost.
Bring your ID or utility bill to verify residency. Residents are encouraged to register in advance to reserve a kitchen pail. For compost, please bring your own shovel and containers. |
