Hi Everyone, it’s me, ‘Full of Shenanigans Al’ again!
Our next Happy2Hours is coming again on this Saturday March 26th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Yay!

We…, well maybe it was just me, I don’t remember for sure, picked the theme to be about The Great Gatsby. It’s supposed to be a ‘Roaring Twenties’ fun time theme. Please don’t think that I was actually around back then! My parents weren’t even parents yet! However, it doesn’t mean we can’t try and make it a fun theme for Shenanigans, right? I guess we’ll know soon enough if we’ll do it again, huh.
You know if we had an unlimited budget to decorate the place, this one would be a real hoot to pull off. We’d pull out all stops, bring out tons of silky fabrics to hang from everywhere, add chandeliers, and other great lighting effects, plus ropes of pearls would be hanging everywhere. You know, all the ‘hotsy-totsy’ and ridiculously-outrageous and super-pricy stuff people with too much money like to spend it on. But then we’d be expecting you to go find the best 1920s outfits to wear, like why not? Money’s not ever a factor right. Haha. If so, I bet we’d see a few of you come as ‘Flappers’ out on the dance floor doing the ‘Charleston’ as well. (Not that any of you were around back then to know how!) Okay, enough day-dreaming and let’s get to the business that we can afford. We have Glenda working on this for us, she always knows how to make the themes work very well. No pressure here Glenda! 😉
If I can pull this off the way I’d like, which would be completely unlike how it went for the Mardi Gras, I’ll have some 1920s music playing in the background and maybe some of it will be good enough to dance to as well. Here’s hoping I’ll figure it out before Saturday. If not maybe I’ll need to find a Sound Engineer for the Shenanigans Squad.
So, let’s get to what you can expect from us. The Main Bar will feature some new cocktails that our Mixologist Mark Fagley has picked out for the event. (Of course, you can always request whatever you’d like normally for yourself anytime.) We aim to please the best we can. The Signature Bar. (Did you catch that new phrase, ‘Signature Bar’.) No more ‘Specialty Bar’, no sir, we have now graduated upwards and onwards to have our very own Signature Bar, after all, we develop special flavored cocktails just for Shenanigans, so why not upgrade our name to reflect that as well. Right? Okay, you should let me have this one, it’s not easy coming up with all this stuff you know.
That said, and I’m still glad I brought it up; it’s time to announce what the ‘Signature Bar’ has in store for you. In reference to ‘The Great Gatsby’ theme, I wanted a unique Champagne Bar for you. The Moet champagne flowed freely back then, I’m sure it did, but like I said, this is a reduced price Happy2Hours event. Besides, even at our normal regular prices, we still can’t afford the best champagne available. So, I thought what can I do to make this as fun and memorable as possible, (in a good way, please.) What if we could make the champagne come in delicious flavors? Stick with me on this, it took us some time and effort to get to this point. I called upon our very own Mr. & Mrs. Margaritaville, Norm and Renee Schoch to suffer through some of my drink concoctions to no avail. In other words, they all kinda stunk. I hope I haven’t arrived at the bottom of the barrel of cocktail ideas, I’m a little scared of that. I tried more ideas feeling sorry for myself, and then the idea struck. Pull out some of my flavored cordials and make them available for you to choose for yourself. Genius, if I must say so myself. If I wouldn’t put my back out, I’d pat myself on the back! Really, this was so much fun trying with my cohorts. Imagine, champagne flavored with the likes of: chocolate, peach, blackberry, orange, green apple, or almond. You pick which flavor to try. I found two flavors I thought were fantastic and there wasn’t any rum in them too! Even those of you not real champagne lovers might change your mind after our party on Saturday. I’m just saying.
Moving on, we will still serve free appetizers per usual, this time Lori Withers will head up the selection and be in charge for us. Chef Diane Perry will be sunning herself on a Central Coast Beach with her own cocktail in hand, I’m quite sure of that. I was admonished, not to blab what Lori will be serving us, so you’ll need to come and check it out in person this time. I don’t even know myself! Maybe this is the shortest promo I ever wrote for our appetizers, I’m sorry, my typing fingers were zipped like my lips.
FYI, next month there will be a date change for the Potluck, it will be on Friday April 8th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. And then on Saturday April 23 will be our next Happy2Hours at our regular time for us. That gives me a whole month to figure out what the theme will be. I wonder if April Showers is a theme?
I hope to see you on Saturday having fun with all of us trying our best!

Bar Manager
