We are putting this message out to all in the village. Shenanigans is looking for volunteers who might enjoy working with us for our Happy 2 Hours and other events the Social Committee plans for us. We need to add to our staff due to turnover situations or illness that comes up from time to time. At this point we are dangerously close to not being able to open the bar due to a lack of available volunteers for the night.
Shenanigans volunteers do not need to have prior experience tending bar, we will be happy to provide any needed training. With that in mind, we will be having a meeting on October 20th at 4:30 p.m. in the Café Room of the clubhouse. In addition to attracting new volunteers, our intent for the meeting is to familiarize everyone attending, including our own squad, with the workings of our bar, what we can do and can not do, what we keep in stock and how to find it when it’s needed. If any of this appeals to you, and you might think you’d like to join the Shenanigans Squad, we welcome you to our meeting. Since we are such nice people, we always provide delicious pizza for our meetings, it’s only fair considering the hour we meet, right?
Judy Wilson is our coordinator for Shenanigans and is responsible for scheduling bartenders for our events. Since we are offering pizza for this general meeting for possible volunteers plus our squad, it is important that you RSVP Judy at her mobile phone (916) 878-7125 so we will have enough pizza available for the meeting.
Lastly, Judy asked me to create this urgent email because we are in grave danger of needing to cancel a Happy 2 Hours because one or two of our bartenders can not make it for personal reasons. If we are successful building a large enough volunteer group, you may not be expected to participate on every event as we all need to do currently. Please give this your consideration if you are someone who enjoys connecting with people at social events.
Sincerely,
Al Fichera
Shenanigans Bar Manager
