Co-Chairpersons Kathy Cooley and Peggy Hillis gave a review of upcoming July and August events.
Happy2Hour on Saturday, July 23 from 4p.m.-6p.m. with a baked potato bar.
Farmers Market is open every Friday at 10 a.m. There are summer vegetables available. Donations of canned and dry goods are welcome as well as pet food that is donated to Meals on Wheels and eyeglasses that are donated to the Lions Club.
National Night Out is Tuesday, August 2nd from 6-8 p.m. in front of the clubhouse. There will be ice cream available for $2.
Hot August Nights Potluck is Saturday the 20th of August from 5-7 p.m.
There will be a Classic car show and music, so dress up in your 50’s attire.
Old Business:
Bar: Al Fichera brought up the idea of another color drink ticket for the bar. There was some confusion at the last event between food tickets and drink tickets. Also, the fact that bottled water was not available was discussed. Storage is an issue.
Craft Fair and Van Gough:
Sam Kuykendall reported that the Christmas in July Craft Fair was a big success. The Fair brought in $780 for tables and $462 in food sales. There were news cameras from Good Day Sacramento that filmed a segment and aired it that day. It can be seen on You Tube if you missed it.
The Van Gough outing has sold over thirty tickets, but there is a problem getting them all for the same time. He is working on a way to get them all for the same time so the tour bus can be used.
Leslie Beecher reported that the 4th of July went really well. All the golf carts were beautifully decorated, and everyone showed up on time for the parade. The hot dog lunch went really well, and the food was delicious. Terry Bales will be the parade Chairperson for next year’s event.
New Business:
New Residents Greeting Committee:
Peggy Hillis recommended a breakfast coffee and donut type quarterly get together for newcomers (residents) of the park. There will still be canvass bags with new materials given out and the committee will meet with new residents in their home.
Distribution of Minutes:
Kathy and Peggy recommended that the Lakeview Village contact list of board members and committee chair people be sent out to all residents along with the minutes of the monthly meetings.
Karaoke Event:
Karen Heller is working on a Karaoke and Pizza event. She is also looking for a band for the annual Valentine’s Day dinner dance.
Judy Wilson brought up the idea of having 4th of July fireworks by the lake next year. It has been done in the past and was enjoyed by all who attended.
Decorating:
Glenda Tinsley reported on decorating of the clubhouse for the 23 July Happy2Hour event. Decorating will start at 10:30 a.m. Anyone who would like to help is welcome. Volunteers are needed to help with all event decorating. The event and decorating time will be in the meeting minutes and via email sent out by Linda Evans.
Adjournment: Kathy Coolie adjourned the meeting at 11 a.m.
