Tech 4 Seniors is the new name for the old Computer Users Group. Anyone using cell phones, IPads, Home Computers or Laptops is welcome to come and learn what is new in the world of technology.
The board has approved us getting a new LEG projector to help in our meetings. We will be selling our old projector (which still works). And watch for the new Tech 4 Seniors banner near the front gate the week before each of our meetings. Thanks to the board and to Al for getting this for us.
Meanwhile, the “Grandma, I need help” scam is very active right now where you receive a phone call from a young-sounding man who says something like, “Grandma, is that you? I need help”. No identification that he knows who you are and no identification about who he is. Our only suggestion is to say something like…”Gerald, is that you?” … using a name that is not in your family. He will say yes. Now you know you have a scam on your phone, It is now up to you as to what to do next: hang up, yell at him, announce that he died 18 months ago, whatever feels good to you. We have done all of these things and although we know it is not going to stop him from trying to scam someone else, it is cleansing to us knowing we saw through his little scheme.
